ABOUT CHRIS

Experience that understands Vallejo’s potential.

CHRIS PLATZER34-year Vallejo resident • Maritime professional • Business leader

I’m running for City Council because I believe Vallejo can be a city of opportunity again.

My technology and maritime background has taught me how to identify opportunities, understand complex infrastructure, and turn practical ideas into results. I want to bring that experience to City Hall.

Mare Island remains one of Vallejo’s greatest economic assets. Our deep-water access, rail connections, dry docks, piers and industrial infrastructure can help attract investment and create quality jobs.

“I’ll lead with integrity, fiscal responsibility, transparency and collaboration — and measure progress by results residents can see.”

REAL SOLUTIONS

Five priorities. One direction.

Focused on the fundamentals that can make a visible difference in everyday life.

01

Jobs & Economic Development

Fully develop Mare Island and the working waterfront to attract maritime business, investment and good-paying jobs.

02

Public Safety & Clean Neighborhoods

Support safer streets, well-lit public spaces and strong partnerships that make neighborhoods feel cared for.

03

Downtown Revitalization

Turn overlooked spaces into active public places that support local businesses and bring people downtown.

04

Waterfront & Marina Innovation

Build on Vallejo’s waterfront heritage with new ideas that bring tourism, activity and revenue to the city.

05

Fiscal Responsibility

Make transparent, responsible decisions and focus public resources on services Vallejoans can see and use.

A VISION FOR DOWNTOWN VALLEJO

From blight to beauty. From parking to place.

These concepts show what thoughtful investment can look like on the ground.

Indian Alley

From Blight to Beauty

Transform Indian Alley into a place for Vallejoans to come together — a walkable arts, culture, dining and gathering destination that celebrates Vallejo’s history and strengthens downtown.

  • Public art & cultural heritage
  • Local markets and outdoor dining
  • Lighting, safety and accessibility
  • Space for community events

THE WATERFRONT

Vallejo’s maritime future
starts with what we already have.

Our waterfront and Mare Island connect Vallejo to a remarkable maritime history — and a real economic opportunity. I want to build on that foundation with jobs, working waterfront uses, marina innovation and responsible private investment.

Marina Houseboats

A sustainable houseboat marina can bring new life, tourism and revenue to our waterfront while reconnecting Vallejo with a distinctive part of its maritime history.
